Parliament consolidated a large number of central labour laws into four Labour Codes: the Code on Wages, 2019, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Social Security, 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020.

This note set out, in comparative tables, the principal changes between the earlier enactments and the Codes on wages, industrial relations and social security, together with the status of the rules framed by the States at the time.

Employers and employees should review contracts of employment, standing orders and compliance practices against the Codes as they are brought into force.
